Dubai: Al Khaleej maintained their top spot in the Etisalat second division league's 21st stage after crushing Ras Al Khaimah 4-0 at their stadium in Khor Fakkan.
Following the big win, Al Khaleej have raised their points tally to 50, with six points separating them from second placed Al Ittihad - who surprisingly lost to Diba Fujairah 3-1. Al Ittihad have 44 points.
Bani Yas, meanwhile, sacked their French coach Alain Michel after they lost to Ajman 2-1 at the latter's ground. They appointed the under-20 team coach Tunisian Abdullatif Bin Mabrouk as a caretaker.
Incidentally, Bani Yas are in the third place with 41 points and Ajman fourth on 40 points. Diba Al Hesn became fifth with 40 points after they defeated Al Zaid with a solitary goal.
One of the four clubs: Al Ittihad, Bani Yas, Ajman and Diba Al Hesn will accompany Al Khaleej to the top flight.
Fujairah Club still have hopes to win a promotion as they have 37 points after beating Masafi 3-1, RAK are in seventh place with 36 points while Al Orouba are in eighth place with 36 points after whipping Al Rams 5-0.
Following is the fixture for the 22nd stage: March 13: RAK v Al Jazira Al Hamra, Al Arabi v Ajman, Bani Yas v Masafi, Fujairah v Al Orouba. March 14: Al Hisn v Al Hamriya, Al Rams v Diba Fujairah, Dubai v Al Khaleej, Al Zaid v Al Ittihad.
