Abu Dhabi: UAE's Nader Bin Hendi is on his way to defending the UAE Jet Ski Championship title for the Pro Runabout (upto 1,600 cc category) after winning the penultimate round of the championship in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Friday.

"I am determined to defend the title I won last year and fortunately I am in a good position to do so," Bin Hendi told Gulf News after the race.

"I am thankful to my sponsors, Dubal, who provided all facilities for me to win the title and I dedicate my success this year to them."

With only one round remaining in Dubai, Bin Hendi leads the standings with 288 points from 5 rounds after winning first place in 4 and finishing third in 1.

His countryman, Saif Khalifa Bin Futtais, who finished second here on Friday, is close behind him with 239 points. This means that Bin Hendi will need to finish among the top five in Dubai to secure his title.

Kuwaiti pilot Yousuf Al Abdul Razzaq finished third here to earn a fresh 48 points.

UAE's rising star, Al Murr Mohammad Bin Huraiz, has a golden chance to finish the season with two titles in the Junior Ski (upto 800cc) and the Ski Limited (upto 800cc) as he leads the standings of both the categories, having finished first in the Junior competition and second in the Limited Race.
