Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, received the Hearing Impaired delegation taking part in the GCC Football Championship and the organisers of the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care, Special Needs and Minor Affairs at his palace yesterday and thanked them for their efforts to achieve success in the event.
Shaikh Hamdan praised the event and its social and humanitarian role to rehabilitate the hearing impaired.
Meanwhile, Kuwait consolidated their hopes of winning the title after trouncing former leaders UAE 9-0.
Injuries
They are awaiting their last match against Bahrain and just need a single point to secure the title.

Mohammad Fadhil Al Hamly, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, said that the tournament was a total success.
"The tournament has achieved unprecedented success whether in organisation," Al Hamly said.
"We are happy that we hosted the gathering of the GCC players in such a healthy atmosphere and provided the chance for them to compete honourably and get acquainted with each other.
"It is the first time in the tournament's history that the winners of the title will get cash prizes of Dh40,000 with Dh30,000 for second place and Dh20,000 for third while the other participants will get Dh10,000 each," Al Hamly concluded.
