Dubai: The road to Dubai has started for six of the world's top women's rugby nations who have qualified for the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2009.

England, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, France and Italy are all through to the event which will be staged from March 5-7.

England were the stand-out team at the qualifiers in Limoges, winning all six of their games and demolishing the Netherlands 50-0 in the final.

Spain provided a sterner test for England in the semis where they eventually came away with a hard-fought 10-0 win before the convincing final victory against the Dutch.

Brazil have already qualified from South America and the remaining qualifiers will come from Oceania, Africa, North America and Asia.

For the first time the women's tournament will run alongside the men's World Cup.
