Tennis players love to hit the stores as much as the rest of us. tabloid! followed two as they indulged in a spot of retail therapy in dubai.
It's no secret that tennis superstars love to shop. In interviews around the world many of them admit to being self-confessed shopaholics, especially when it comes to fashion and accessories.
So the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships are perfectly located for those who want to hit the shops. However, browsing may not be an option.
World number one Roger Federer was practically mobbed as he arrived at the Rolex store, a brand he is ambassador for, at Mall of the Emirates.
Men, women and children had to be held back as the tennis ace, originally from Switzerland, made his way into the store to sign pictures, T-shirts and caps for fans before heading for a tour of the mall.
In good shape
He said: "I am very much looking forward to the tournament and feel in good shape. I have been ill for two weeks but I am over that now and feel ready for the Dubai Tennis Championships.
"I love coming to Dubai and I love the shops here, although now people know I'm here, it will make it difficult to just browse around.
"Last year I went up in a helicopter as a player activity before the tournament but this year I would like to keep my feet well and truly on the ground."
Ana Ivanovic also hit the shops with a visit to Dubai Duty Free. The popular Serb and world number two was shown the delights of the shop, taking a particular interest in the sunglasses and jewellery.
'Wonderful'
Ivanovic, who is competing in the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships singles competition, enjoyed visiting the shop floor where she met with Dubai Duty Free Managing Director Colm McLoughlin and Tournament Director Salah Tahlak.
Dressed in a summery white shirt with white pearl earrings, the young star said: "Normally I don't have the time to do any shopping prior to a tournament so it's wonderful to have the opportunity to spend some time at Dubai Duty Free."
Impressed
Clearly impressed with the wide range of products available Ivanovic tried and tested sunglasses before moving to the jewellery counter.
The young Serb star had a bye in the first round of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships but was knocked out in the quarter finals by eighth-seed Elena Dementieva of Russia 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.
