Dubai: Destiny's Child star Kelly Rowland and Dubai favourites Karl Wolf and Abri will take to the stage at the Dubai Tennis stadium on Saturday, April 19, as part of the Radio 1 LIVE free event.
The concert is billed as a thank you to the station's listeners for their support and will be simultaneously broadcast to hundreds of thousands via the airwaves, live on Radio 1.
The invitation-only event will feature some of the biggest international artists supported by the UAE's leading club brands & DJs.
Grammy Award winning Kelly Rowland, who rose to fame as part of the hugely successful girl group Destiny's Child, has had an equally successful solo career, with hits including Stole, Dilemma, Like This and Work.
Lebanese-born Canadian artist Karl Wolf will also be taking to the stage for a rare treat in Dubai, performing hits from his latest album Bite The Bullet, and Dubai-based Abri, who have had a meteoric rise to fame with their debut album Sunchild, will also be taking part.
Simon Schooly, Head of Radio 1, explained, "This event is everything that Radio 1 is about. There is nothing about this event that doesn't speak Radio 1. The artists and DJs make up the staple diet of our play list, so this is very much a personal event for us and the perfect way to say a sincere thank you to all Radio 1 listeners. This event is everything in one night - the complete party! Everyone involved is very excited and I know this is going to be an event that will be remembered for years to come. Just come dressed to sweat."
Invitations to the event are available to all Radio 1 listeners. To get yours tune into Radio 1 on 104.1FM in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and 100.5 in Abu Dhabi, or send an SMS: RADIO 1 followed by your name to 6362. Winners will be notified within 24 hours about where and how to collect their invitation.
