Besides the latest garment trends for autumn-winter 2008, DFW also showcased the hair trends for the season at a show presented by Dessange Paris, the official hairstylists for DFW.
Working on the hair of four of their regular customers, Dessange’s team of hair artists demonstrated how they create a variety of chic, alluring hairstyles to suit different hair types and personalities.
While the hairstylists worked away with their brushes, blow driers and curling irons, a bevy of models walked down the ramp displaying a variety of coiffures including long straight hair, soft curls, carefully tousled looks, elaborate buns and chignons, casually tied pony tails and styles decorated with eye-catching accessories.
The salon, located in the Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai is celebrating its first anniversary in the city. Rohit Murgai, general manager of Jacques Dessange (Paris) Coiffure, said: “Rather than following trends our salon believes in customising a style to suit a woman’s facial structure, personality and lifestyle.
Shades of brown
“This season we are presenting the ‘three in one cut’, which is short at the back and longer in the front. This gives a woman the flexibility to style her hair in many different ways ranging from classic, rock ’n’ roll or rebel styles,” he added.
Commenting on the hair colours for autumn-winter 2008, technical director Tony Habchy explained that the trend is to have various shades of brown that look natural rather than having conspicuous colour highlights.
