The UAE is a country made up of seven 'emirates' Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, Ras Al-Khaimah, Fujairah. It is bordered by Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the west and south.
The Arabian Gulf is the largest natural pearl diving area in the world, but now at least 30 per cent of the best pearl sites are inaccessible due to oil drilling.
The new law provides that non-UAE nationals, natural or legal persons, shall have the right to own surface property in investment areas, but not the land on which the property is built.
