Kabul: A suicide attack aimed at foreign troops near the airport in the Afghan capital on Thursday killed at least six people and wounded ten, an official said.

The car pulled up alongside an armoured vehicle during rush hour and exploded. Witnesses say the car was completely destroyed.

There were no casualties among security forces from the attack, which happened during the peak of rush hour, according to Najib Nikzad, an interior ministry official.

The airport road is regularly used by foreign troops deployed in the country.
