Dhaka: 14 people have died after a bus carrying garment workers lost control and crashed into an electricity pole in southern Bangladesh on Thursday, an official said.
15 other people suffered injuries and were sent to the hospital.
Some of the victims suffered burns because they were struck by live electrical wires snapped by the bus, area administrator Sajjadul Hasan said.
Two of the injured were in serious condition.
The bus was carrying at least 47 garment workers on their way to a picnic when the accident occurred in Cox’s Bazar district, 185 miles south of the national capital Dhaka, said Hasan.
