Beijing: China has sentenced six safety officials responsible for a mine explosion that killed 105 miners.
The official Xinhua News Agency says the local county's Work Safety Bureau deputy head Shi Jiqing was sentenced to three and half years in jail for dereliction of duty, for the blast last December in northern China's Shanxi province. Others were given between two to eight years.
Last month three officials were sentenced to life imprisonment for the blast. Fourteen others also received prison terms.
The explosion was triggered by an accumulation of gas in an unventilated tunnel. It was the second deadliest mining accident in China in 2007.
