Beijing: A state news agency reported on Thursday that a fireworks explosion killed 22 people and injured ten others in China’s northwestern region of Xinjiang.
The Xinhua News Agency said the accident took place Wednesday evening as authorities in the city of Turpan were destroying fireworks.
The brief report said the fire was extinguished.
