London: Britain on Sunday advised its citizens to leave Georgia unless it is necessary that they stay, while the Foreign Office advised against non-essential travel to the conflict-torn country.
"If you or your family have no urgent need to remain in Georgia you should leave as soon as possible. It is wise to do so while some air services are still available and the border remains open," the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The office said that visas for Armenia can be obtained at the border and entry into Azerbaijan is only possible with a visa.
The office advised against travel to separatist regions of South Ossetia, Abkhazia and also the upper Kodori Valley, also known as upper Abkhazia.
