Dubai: Indian expatriates from Hyderabad on Sunday shrugged-off fears of religious riots in the state following the two bomb blasts that ripped through the capital of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Majority of them who spoke to Gulf News felt the act is politically motivated and ruled out involvement of any outside terrorist organisation.
They said the people of Andhra Pradesh have vowed to come together in this time of crisis instead of indulging in a blame game.
Yalawarty Sarath who works in a public department termed the incident unfortunate.
"No doubt that the heinous act has disturbed the harmony of the Andhra Pradesh. Basically it creates fears in the minds of the people. Instead of hunting for external forces the authorities should concentrate within the state and get the perpetrators. The aim is to de-stabilise existing government," Sarath said.
Lingam Veera Ajit Kumar, general manager Bin Owais General Trading, Dubai said: "There are no words to describe the gory incident. I am sad that it has to happen in the place where I come from."
Politically motivated
P.N. Rao, managing director Sigma Engineering Group, said that no Congress chief minister in the state has ever completed the full five-year term and the latest violence is an attempt to bring down the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy government.
He further said, "Even when Nedurumilli Janardhan Reddy was the chief minister the state had witnessed a series of communal riots. The blasts are politically motivated to bring down the government."

This is an act of terror which has caused tremendous damage regardless of any religion. It has caused panic and tension in the region, where there has been peace and harmony for a very long time. Let it be political or terror, it is an act of cowardice and it is innocent people who have lost their loved ones. Habeeb Dubai,UAE Posted: August 27, 2007, 11:59
These incidents in less than a three month period, the earlier in Mecca Masjid, clearly indicate security lapses and points fingers at the way the previous incident was handled. The police conclude that the two attacks are linked from the evidence gathered so far. This could have been easily prevented only if the police had cracked the mystery of who was behind the Masjid blast, let alone build up on the leads even after three months of blasts. People who say that these kinds of incidents are communal are the biggest liars under the sun. The UAE is the best example of a place where people not only from different beliefs but from different countries live and they are prosperous and very happy. There is no doubt that that politics is curbing not only its future but also the future of the country. Mohammed Dubai,UAE Posted: August 27, 2007, 11:04
The sad incident of bomb blast in Hyderabad is condemnable, but it has been seen in the recent incidents that Indian govt. and private agencies blame Pakistan even it rains in India.
This is very stupid. Pakistan itself has been a target of many bomb attacks. If India wants to put the responsibility of these bomb attacks on Pakistan, then first the Indian govt. should take responsibility of those bomb attacks which take place in Pakistan. It is interesting the way this is being portrayed as usual: some 'external' force - which we all know means only one country - is behind the blasts, according to intelligence. What I don't understand is, if they're so confident, it is enough to justify war. But if they aren't, then isn't that a case for what Gulf News says i.e. is it now the easy way out to simply blame Pakistan? Anthony Dubai,UAE Posted: August 27, 2007, 08:44
First of all we condemn this terrorist attack which affected and taken life innocent lives. I don't understand why indian government and intelligence will come to conclusion without completing investigation and blaming either Pakistan or Bangladesh organisation.
it is consipiracy against ruling government and blame has been directed to foreign terrorist groups. Mohammed Jubail,Saudi Arabia Posted: August 27, 2007, 08:34
You can always call an incident unfortunate as long it is not one of your kin that is lost or injured.
Unfortunately any investigation whether conducted with an open mind or otherwise is moot as authorities there, as in most developing countries, seem to lack the necessary tools or the will do conduct one. One simple reason: life in that part of the world does not seem to have any value, be it in Hyderabad or Baghdad, Palestine or Pakistan. People are so dangerously divided on caste (tribal), religious lines that the concept of coexistence, etc. is absent. In fact, what they seem to have is mutual distrust and lack of faith in the govt.
