New Delhi: A passenger train link between India and Bangladesh resumes on Monday after more than 40 years.
Passenger train services between the two countries were suspended after a war between India and Pakistan in 1965, when Bangladesh was then the eastern province of Pakistan.
Bangladesh became an independent country in 1971.
Thousands of people on both sides of the border have relatives on either side. Many Bangladeshis want to travel to India to get medical treatment.
A one-way ticket for the 500 km journey starts at $8 (Dh 29).
