Lucknow : The teenage son of Samajwadi Party legislator Shadaad Fatima was arrested on Saturday for crushing three people to death under his car and injuring five others in this Uttar Pradesh capital.
Kaasif Abbas, 17, allegedly ran over the people when they were asleep on the pavement on Friday midnight in Lucknow. He was arrested and produced before a court.
Three of the five injured are in critical condition.
Abbas, driving a sports utility vehicle, was drunk when he knocked down two motorcyclists before running his vehicle over people sleeping on the pavement across Clarks Awadh Hotel in Hazratganj area, eyewitnesses told police.
