Ghaziabad: The body of an unidentified accident victim, who died in a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district, was allegedly dumped in a roadside ditch, a police official said here on Wednesday.
"During patrolling on Tuesday night, a body was found lying in a ditch with fresh bandages over it," said Vijay Bhushan, the superintendent of police.
On investigation, the police found that the dead man had sustained critical injuries on Friday at Ghaziabad railway station while getting down from a train.
Fellow passengers took the injured man to Raghuvir hospital at Dasna town of Ghaziabad where he died after four days. The person who had brought him in refused to take charge of the body claiming it was a humanitarian act. The hospital tried to send the body through a staffer. When the person refused to accept it, the ambulance driver and staffer allegedly dumped the body on a roadside ditch. Police have arrested the driver and the hospital employee.
