New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday  subjected Rajesh Talwar, the father of murdered teenager Aarushi to a second polygraph test.

"We took Talwar to the CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory) this morning for conducting another lie detector test," a CBI source confirmed.

The premier investigating agency had on Thursday moved an application in a special CBI court in Ghaziabad for conducting a second polygraph test on the dentist after the first one had proved inconclusive.

During the hearing, judge Sapna Mishra Tripathi, after going through the CBI's case diary, had rejected Talwar's bail plea and extended his judicial custody by 14 days.

Aarushi (14) was found murdered in her upscale Jal Vayu Vihar apartment in suburban Noida on May 16. The police initially named her family's domestic help Hemraj as the prime accused but backtracked when his body was found on the apartment's terrace the very next day.

The Noida police arrested Aarushi's father on May 23 contending that he killed his daughter in a fit of rage over her alleged closeness to Hemraj.

Public outcry

The CBI took over the case on June 1 after a public outcry over the shoddy manner in which the Noida police had investigated the case.

The agency arrested Talwar's compounder Krishna on June 13, saying he had confessed to his involvement in the twin murders. A number of suspects have since been questioned.

Late on Thursday, the CBI subjected dentist couple Praful and Anita Durani, family friends of Talwars, to a lie detector test.
