Srinagar: Government forces fired rubber bullets and teargas to disperse an angry crowd of protesters in Indian Kashmir, police said on Monday.
Hundreds of demonstrators were protesting the killing of a man by government forces and elections due in October.
Kashmiri protesters clashed with government forces at three places in Srinagar, a police spokesman said, adding that at least one soldier was injured.
The demonstrations crippled much of the region, forcing shops, banks and government offices to close.
More than two months of angry protests have left at least 43 people dead in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
