Pristina: Bulgaria, Croatia and Hungary have officially recognized Kosovo’s independence despite warnings from Belgrade that the move could lead to worsening ties.
The move by the three countries, which neighbour Serbia, comes as Belgrade recalled its ambassadors to Japan and Canada after they recognized Kosovo’s right to exist.
The United States and its main EU allies have recognized Kosovo's statehood, but Belgrade enjoys backing from Russia in its bid to reclaim the territory.
On Wednesday, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic warned that any country that recognizes Kosovo ''can't count on good relations with Serbia.''
