Mexico: Heavily armed men have killed at least 16 members of a ranchers’ association in two massacres in southern Mexico, according to Mexican media reports on Sunday.
Forty men wearing uniforms of an elite police squad shot dead nine people in Petatlan town in Guerrero on Sunday, El Universal newspaper reported.
In the town of Iguala, also in Guerrero, an armed group killed seven ranchers holding a meeting. The sons of the association’s state leader were among those killed, Reforma newspaper said.
The motive for the attacks was not immediately clear.
