Dubai: We don't want a coalition at the expense of national interest, said Nawaz Sharif, chief of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, before talks started at a hotel in Dubai on Thursday afternoon on the issue of reinstating deposed judges.
Sharif rushed to Dubai to salvage the talks, which were held on Monday between his party president Shabaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari.
The parties failed to reach a conclusion risking a split between the key ruling coalition partners.
If the talks fail, the parliamentary party will meet and decide whether to withdraw ministers from the Cabinet, said Sharif told Gulf News on Thursday.
Chaudhry Nisar, PML-N parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, said the talks held on Thursday in Dubai are very crucial and that it is a make-or-break situation.
