Manila: Feisty Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, known for her acerbic and colourful language, had a bad fall after a speech during the birthday party of her husband at a posh hotel in suburban Mandaluyong yesterday.
"She had a misstep, was caught off balance, and banged her head against a wall while she was coming down the makeshift stage where she gave a speech during the birthday bash of her husband Narciso," said Tom Tolibas, her media relations officer.
"She was immediately brought to the nearby Cardinal Santos Medical Center, where she was treated for minor contusions," said Tolibas.
