Manila: Domestic flights will begin landing at Manila airport's third passenger terminal from next week as officials have drawn up a phased plan for the eventual full operation of the facility.
According to officials, operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 (NAIA 3) will have a dry run on July 23.
Almost two dozen domestic flights are expected to arrive on that day. Presidential Task Force on NAIA-3 Chief Michael Defensor said that the terminal is being opened in a phased manner to avoid inconvenience to users.
"In terms of facility and readiness of the airport, we are working on that for the past weeks," Defensor said.
According to Defensor domestic carriers Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines Express and Air Philippines will initially use the NAIA 3 on July 23 for a dry run. He hoped by February or March next year the terminal will handle international flights.
