Harare: President Robert Mugabe is ready to form a new government without the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), it has been reported.

Deputy information minister Bright Matonga has been quoted as saying that “nothing” would stop them from forming a new government.

Mugabe, whose Zanu PF party lost its parliamentary majority in the last elections, has also been quoted by state run Daily Herald newspaper as saying “We will soon be setting up a government.”

The news comes after Mugabe was jeered while delivering a speech at the opening day of parliament in Zimbabwe on Tuesday.
