The gender war has nowhere near abated. It is alive and raging, as we realised with the high number of respondents who voted on the poll question. But, the debate responses were interesting, as some of the issues that were generally presumed to be gender specific were argued as being a result of upbringing. So, it doesn't matter if you are a man or
a woman - you are a shirker because you were not taught better. What do you think? Join the debate online.

Men are untidy by nature.

I think this is true, to a certain extent. Most of the time it is women who are tidy. They are the ones who generally stay at home and take care of its organisation, cleanliness and tidiness. Men are generally busy at work and have no time to keep things tidy.

I am sure many will agree with me when I say that being tidy or untidy is in no way related to gender. It depends on habits inculcated in the formative years of one's life. A child, irrespective of gender, is very quick to imbibe what he or she is exposed to in the early years. Whether it is a girl or boy, the parents, especially the mother, play a crucial role in shaping the nature and inculcating habits in a child.

I am against the saying that men are untidy by nature. I think it is just a cultural thing where men are expected to work and women to keep the house clean and tidy, so it looks like men are untidy. I think in the end it depends on the individual. I know some men who are messy and blame it on how tired they are because they are always busy. However, there are men who are tidy and don't think that taking two minutes to fold a shirt is much.

No, this is not true. This is a cute question, because if you go and ask women this, they will say we are. Men are not untidy by nature because I do not think that men or women do things because "it's in their nature". I think men remain untidy because women dedicate themselves to cleaning up after them and organising things. Also, I think this has a lot to do with the culture we live in and the roles men and women are assigned.

All women hide their age.

Yes that is true. It is a general rule. You never ask women about their age and men about their salaries. I do not know why they hide their age. I think some women don't care that much about giving their age, but the majority do. I don't see an issue though for them to hide
the age.

This is true because women always want to look young and never want to be seen to be old. That's why whenever you ask a woman about her age, sometimes she would take 10 years off or so and give you a number. I do it sometimes, but most of the time I give my real age.

My wife does not hide her age. Maybe it's a 50 per cent split, some hide their age and some don't. I think on the professional level, women do not hide their age. There is no reason for them to do that. On the personal level, I think some do because they want to feel young and
do a lot of things that need to be done by a
certain age.

The women I know do not hide their age. I think there is a reason for those who do it. Maybe because culturally, women are supposed to look thin, young and beautiful, and as women grow older it becomes really difficult to maintain that. But again, I know women who are successful and working happily and have no problem in giving away their age. I think it is an issue for certain women who plan to do things at certain ages and have a problem with revealing their age.

Men are better cooks.

Yes, men are better cooks than women because women have entered almost all fields of work, so now men are forced to pay more attention towards cooking. Women were the best cooks in the olden days but at that time society was not so developed. Now women are better in all fields, so men have to enter the kitchen to compete with them!

Yes, I think men are better cooks because when they do cook, they do it with passion. It is also because it is unusual for men to cook, but for women, it is part of their routine. My father is a very talented cook, though he is not a cook by profession. He's very good. I think men are
better at it because they do not do it as often as women, who do it because it is part of their job.

I think so … definitely so. If you look globally, women are traditionally the cooks. They are natural at it, but men do not cook unless it is for a reason, to serve a purpose. Because men do not do it often, they are generally passionate when they do it compared to women, who get used to cooking. So when men cook, they do it perfectly.

I think men are better, but it depends on the nationality. I think Italian men are very good cooks. Perhaps, this is because their cuisine is very tasty. I don't think men generally like to cook, but when they do, they are very good. If you notice, all chefs are men.

Women have good organisational skills.

Women are more organised than men. They have a lot of patience to do things. When it comes to work, they are very hardworking. I think men are generally lazy. Even on the personal level, men throw their things everywhere and they think it is the woman's job to go clean after them. They think we are their slaves!

I think women have good organisational skills. I think they are even more organised than men. Men can manage sometimes, but I think women succeed on all levels whether at work, home or in relationships.

Yes they are because they organise the house and the family. But I think in the end it depends on the person. I think in certain technical jobs, you find men more organised than women, like in the information technology industry, construction and other jobs. But overall, women are very organised.

From my experience, I do not think women on the professional level have organisational skills. I have had two female bosses and they were terrible at management. On the personal level, at home, women definitely have better organisation skills. They do all the jobs from cooking to laundry and keep the house organised.
