Vietnam set to be latest country to allow visa-free travel for Indians

Based on recent media reports, Vietnam could soon join the list of countries offering visa-free travel for Indian tourists. [Pictured: Golden Bridge]

A local media publication reported that Vietnam Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung called for short-term visa waivers for Indian and Chinese tourists.

Passport holders of Germany, France, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Denmark, and Finland can travel visa-free to this picturesque and culture-rich South Asian country. [Pictured: Thu Bon River]

In its first ‘How India Travels’ report, travel platform Bookings.com found that India is set to become the fourth largest global travel spender before the end of this decade - $410 billion by 2030.

Sri Lanka recently announced that free visas would be issued to Indians travelling to the island nation. The country launched a pilot project - which would also benefit travellers from China, Russia, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand - until March 31, 2024. [Pictured: Nine Arch Bridge]

Thailand is the latest to announce a visa-free scheme for travellers, including Indian citizens. Part of a trial programme that started on November 10, Indians can travel visa-free to Thailand. The programme will be active until May 10 next year. [Pictured: Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok]
