Magnitude 6.5 earthquake strikes off Indonesia's Java island

A magnitude-6.5 earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia's Java island on Saturday, the country's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) reported.

The quake, which BMKG said occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres (6 miles), was felt in capital Jakarta, an AFP reporter said.
